THE AIR OF STABILIZERS IS MAINLY TO ENSURE SMOOTH RUNNABILITY FROM PRESS TO REEL

The air of stabilizers is to avoid web fluttering and wrinkling and ensure smooth runnability from press section up to reel.

The air of stabilizers is to avoid web fluttering and wrinkling and ensure smooth runnability from press section up to reel. Runnability is critical for paper production, as paper breaks reduce machine operating time. The absence of stabilizers themselves, incorrect installation position or dimension of stabilizer are one of the main reasons for increased paper breaks.

Stabilizers are installed on specific position inside machine:

  • stabilizers between presses
  • stabilizers between final press and drying section group
  • stabilizers in unorun configuration (slalom groups)
    • One side stabilizer
    • Double side stabilizers with bottom (heated) cylinder
    • Double side stabilizers with bottom (drilled) cylinder (vacroll)
  • stabilizers between drying groups
  • stabilizers at felt rolls tangent on paper
