Highest moisture emissions are in the wet end area (forming board and press section). Due to specific configuration of hall and paper machine inside, following guidelines are to be followed:
  • supply air distribution from tender toward drive side
  • supply air distribution from dry end (reel) towards wed end (headbox)
  • exhaust air removal on wet end drive side (area of forming board and press section).
Due to high emission of moisture released on wet end, it is often seen “black walls” on hall walls, misting or even condensation. To avoid these unwanted issues, following solutions are available:
  • adequate machine hall insulation on hood roof
  • installation of false ceiling below hood roof from wet end wall to end of press section (beginning of drying section)
  • installation of false ceiling below hood roof in entire hall
Only with proper dimensioning and correct positioning of hall air system, we can prevent spread of moisture from wet end towards dry end, and ensure optimized working conditions for personnel.
